Gift Guide

Sending a Keycap Gift

A keycap set is an easy gift to send and an awkward one to get wrong — the parcel arrives with a price on it, the message card has nowhere to go, or the recipient needs help and does not hold the order.

This page covers gift wrapping and message cards, sending a parcel with no prices inside, how long a gift order takes, and what a recipient can and cannot arrange on their own.

Gift services are confirmed with us before the order is fulfilled, so the one thing worth doing early is asking — before dispatch, not after.

01 — Gift wrapping and message cards

Ask at checkout, and we confirm the arrangement

We can offer gift wrapping and a message card, arranged per order rather than applied automatically. Tell us when you place the order and contact support so we can confirm what you want written and how it will be handled.

  1. Ask before dispatch. Gift requests are confirmed with us while the order is still being prepared. A request that arrives after the parcel has gone out may not be possible to arrange.
  2. Tell us the message. Send the wording you want on the card and we will confirm the length we can take for your order.
  3. Check the details with us. Availability, any charge and which items the service applies to depend on the order — we confirm all three with you rather than leaving you to assume them.

What this page does not promise: gift wrapping and message cards are not described here as free, as unlimited in length, or as available on every item automatically. Those details are confirmed per order by support before dispatch.

02 — Sending it without prices inside

The parcel can arrive without a priced invoice

If you are sending straight to the recipient, we can leave the priced receipt or commercial invoice out of the parcel, so nothing in the box states what the gift cost.

What changes, and what does not
Item Where it goes
Priced receipt or commercial invoice Left out of the parcel when you ask us to send it as a gift
Order confirmation and payment record Sent to the buyer as usual — the purchase record stays with the person who paid
Customs paperwork Handled as the destination requires; ask us if you need to know what the parcel declares

Leaving the invoice out does not change the order itself: the purchase is still recorded against the buyer's account and payment method, which is what any later refund or return is processed against.

03 — How long a gift order takes

Plan from the order date, not the dispatch date

Delivery estimates run from the day the order is placed. If the set you are sending is an artisan piece, its making time comes on top.

Estimated delivery from the order date
Method or item Estimated time Note
Standard delivery 8–12 business days Counted from the day the order is placed
Express delivery 5–8 business days The faster option where it is offered for your address
Artisan keycaps +1–3 calendar days Made to order, so this is added to the delivery estimate
Orders mixing both Whole order ships together The whole order waits for the artisan item, so its making time applies to everything in it

These are estimates. Busier periods around gift-giving dates, public holidays, customs clearance and the carrier's own schedule can all add time. If a date matters, order early and tell us the date you need it by — see Shipping & Delivery for the full picture.

04 — When the recipient needs help

They can ask us first — some things stay with the buyer

A recipient can contact us first about a problem with the gift, and quote whatever order-linked information they have — we will look the order up with them. What we cannot do is change the money side of an order without the person who placed it.

Who confirms what
Request How it is handled
The recipient reports a problem They can contact support first, with the order details they have, and we look into it with them
A refund Confirmed or authorised by the buyer, and paid back to the original payment method — not to a different account of the recipient
Changing the delivery address Confirmed by the buyer, or authorised by them where the recipient raises it
Return conditions and who pays the return shipping Depends on the reason for the return and the rights that apply — the same terms as Returns & Refunds

Return and exchange terms follow Returns & Refunds. One point specific to gifts: artisan keycaps are not part of the additional voluntary 30-day no-reason return, because they are made to order. Your statutory rights, and the remedy for a quality problem, are not affected by that.

05 — Gifts going to more than one address

One order per address is the safe way

If the gifts are going to different addresses, place a separate order for each address, and fill in the recipient details and the message request on each one. That keeps every parcel, card and invoice attached to the right gift.

If you would rather keep one order and have it split, or have part of it gift-wrapped, contact us first: we will confirm whether it can be arranged and whether it adds a cost. We would rather tell you before it ships than after.

Sending several sets to one person? The keycap sets and artisan keycaps pages show which sets are made to order, which is what determines whether the artisan making time applies.

06 — Questions about sending a gift

Five things buyers ask most

Can you gift-wrap my order and add a message card?

Gift wrapping and message cards are arranged per order and confirmed with support before the order is fulfilled — tell us when you place the order. Send the wording you want, and we will confirm what can be arranged, whether there is a charge and how long a message we can take for your order. We do not describe the service on this page as free, as unlimited in length, or as applied to every item automatically.

Will the person receiving it see what I paid?

Ask us to leave out the priced receipt or commercial invoice and the parcel can arrive without a price inside. Your order confirmation and payment record are still sent to you as the buyer, as usual — nothing about the purchase is hidden from you, only from the gift parcel. Customs paperwork is handled as the destination requires.

How long will a gift order take to arrive?

From the day the order is placed, standard delivery is estimated at 8–12 business days and express at 5–8 business days. Artisan keycaps are made to order and add 1–3 calendar days, and an order that mixes artisan and in-stock items ships as a whole. Busier periods, public holidays, customs clearance and carrier schedules can add time, so order early if the date matters.

The recipient wants a refund or a different address. Can they arrange it?

They can contact us first and we will look into the order with them, but a refund or a change of delivery address is confirmed or authorised by the buyer. A refund is paid back to the original payment method, not to a different account belonging to the recipient. Return conditions and return shipping follow the reason for the return and the rights that apply.

Can I send gifts to two addresses in one order?

Placing a separate order per address is the safe way, with the recipient details and any message request filled in on each one. If you want a single order split into several parcels, contact us first so we can confirm whether it is possible and whether it adds a cost.

Sending something for a specific date?

Tell us the date you need it by and we will confirm the timing, the gift service and anything else the parcel needs — before it leaves us rather than afterwards.
